Royal House Antiques is delighted to offer for sale this Museum quality, circa 1880 Dutch inlaid extra large twin pedestal, double sided partners desk which has been fully restored. A truly stunning and exquisitely made piece, this is pure art furniture from every angle, this sitting in the middle of a room would command attention from everyone that sees it. The desk has had every single panel fully marquetry inlaid including the inside legs panels, what that means is you can swop the pedestals around if you wish, this would give both sides one cupboard and one bank of drawers as apposed to how you see it pictured with all the drawers on one side and both cupboards on the other. The top is a thick cattle hide leather which has been hand dyed and antiqued this lovely deep cigar brown. Condition we have deep cleaned, the desk has been fully restored, any small inlay losses have been replaced with timber inlay not filler, they have then been coloured and the whole piece French polished, the leather was washed back, hand dyed six times, antiqued the French polished as well. There will still be age and use related patina marks as you would expect from something this delicate, nothing that detracts for the exquisite quality.
